The Department of Chemistry invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, fixed-term Research Associate position.  The individual holding this position will be engaged in research focused on taking advantage of modern magnetic materials to create electromagnetostatic (EMS) cells that can be installed in any type of tandem mass spectrometer and used to aid in the analysis of peptides and proteins.  Applicants need to have a Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry or bioanalytically related discipline, excellent written and oral communication skills, and have prior experience in maintaining and operating mass spectrometers, preparing samples of peptides and proteins for mass spectrometric analysis, performing mass spectrometric analysis of peptides and proteins, and using bioinformatic tools to interpret mass spectrometric proteomic data.
